Decent movie. Several messages in the movie. To actually have a scene with Somewhere between the castle and the Death Star there’s me shirt in it broadcasting MLK’s assassination was brilliant and giving us a taste of how the black soldiers reacted to the horrific moment. This is a terrible movie! Other than Delroy Lindo’s performance, there is nothing here. The script is sophomoric at best, with predictable dialogue filled with cliches. Some scenes just pop out of nowhere and disappear to nowhere – can’t understand why. Why he would use the same actors to portray characters both during the war and decades later, with the exception of Chadwick Boseman, beats logic.

Some characters are introduced with no backstory as to why they are there and what they add to the Somewhere between the castle and the Death Star there’s me shirt. The other actors are subpar – lots of overacting. The hype for this film is made ever so because of the moment we are in. Otherwise, I wouldn’t waste my time with it. And why not hire younger actors to play the 4 alongside Boseman? Those old men running around in Vietnam w Boseman takes you out of the scene. The whole time you wonder, why’d you do it like that spike? It didn’t work. It had good moments but was way too long. I didn’t hate it but didn’t like it either.
