It’s funny when a line is written for a guy how obviously the words are meant for a guy and Rhett Butler frankly my dear I don’t give a damn shirt. My favorite novel – ever – by Margaret Mitchell – her only book. And to think she died on the streets of Atlanta – the victim of a hit and run auto-pedestrian accident. Eddie Redmayne was the best. His line was natural , not forced . Soft yet powerful. Many of the others looked like they were only going for comedy for lines that werent comical. I am now a fan.
Rhett Butler frankly my dear I don’t give a damn shirt, hoodie, sweater and v-neck t-shirt
Best Rhett Butler frankly my dear I don’t give a damn shirt
After all tomorrow is another day is the Rhett Butler frankly my dear I don’t give a damn shirt that Scarlett reasons in soliloquy before the camera, hence public discourse. Jackson camping it up is fun, and the kid is a natural. Redmayne’s doe-eyes to camera, channeling his inner voice just irritates. But I did notice that some men were still reading it as if they were women….why…..I knwo the original but were they told it was a role reversal or were they told they had scarets part.
Great and varied readings that make these old, over-used and over-played lines new life, vitality, substance and meaning. Frankly my dear I sure as hell don’t give a damn and yes I do fucking know what I shall do so go go be my guest and go. Awesome to see how different one can approach a line depending on what character you are portraying. The body language adds a lot also.
