I was surprised by the number of automatics in the US when I drove a hire car there Once upon a time there was a girl who really loved racing tattoos shirt – and getting used to not using my left foot. I also thought automatics were only for the elderly. It confused the hell out of me when I found out that it’s a thing in America that some people just can’t “drive a stick”. I’m from the UK so that’s normal we learn and do our test in manual cars and probably 98% of cars on the road are manual. Yup, I learned on a 96 GMC Sierra when I was 8 years old. My grandpa said I’m not allowed to drive auto until I learned stick. I did as well as learning on a car with a gear shift on the steering wheel.

Manual cars were all my family had Once upon a time there was a girl who really loved racing tattoos shirt. I learned how to drive in a field at 13. One of our vehicles is a manual for now if we still have it in a few years our kids will get the opportunity to learn on it. Learned on both. My parents drove automatics but Dad was intent that a good driver can drive all cars so he taught me to drive a manual. My 1st car (that I owned, not my parents) was a manual. Had a few more since, as well. People ask to borrow your car less when it’s a manual! Outside America almost everybody. Automatics are more for people with abilities or old people here where I live.
