Can’t tell it’s the same guy when he’s supposed to be dead but shows up dressed nicely in a lot of stuff pretending to be a prince. Still ends up being in love with him when he turns out to be a con-artist and marrying him only when her father says it’s okay. But then they send her off to Europe in the second one and put her in girly-girl situations for a bit but then falls in love with the *second* European guy who she ends up with despite finding out the first one (who she thought dead) was alive. The problem with this one is that it’s based on a real person… so you have to ask yourself whether or not the real Pocahontas was a feminist, and yeah, I’d say she was even if Disney didn’t exactly portray her that way.

Yeah, she went off to war dressed as a boy only to save I am a Disney Princess unless Harry Potter needs me shirt. But dude, she actually did go fight and refuse to be girly-girl-ish when it came to the training and fighting. Unfortunately, she seems to revert right back to ‘submissive maiden’ when she gets home and her prince follows her. Again, the straight-to-video sequel shows her still bowing to the patriarchy, but supposedly inciting revolt from the ‘arranged marriage’ bit. She saves the wastrel, good-for-nothing Prince. She’s the one who fights the bad-guy, defeats him, and in the end, is the reason that “prince Naveen” beats the curse because she marries him. Only bit where she falls down is that she falls for the good-for-nothing guy who is the antithesis of herself.
