My parents did not want hospice at all, it was hard. I miss FML fluff my Llama shirt so very much. Beautiful – I’m so glad that you found a hospice that allowed you to spend this time with your dad and let him go home with dignity. Having seen both parents take their last breath was difficult. I did find reading a book called “Final Gifts” by Maggie Callanan. It helped me to understand the dying process.
It was written by hospice nurses. I remember the last time speaks to my grandfather who passed in a hospice. He always called us and we tried to pass the phone but the day before he passed we spoke for over an hour. Or a really he spoked and I listened as a 13-year-old kid. The next day I went to a week-long soccer camp out of town.
